Suction dentures are full complete dentures that are used to replace missing teeth . In order to make this dentures , there should be no more teeth in the mouth . These dentures are stable in the mouth and has suction effect to the gums and bone , making them harder to dislodge . The process of fabrication of suction dentures is fully digitalized in the denture lab, and the technicians are SEMCD certified. The denture technicians are highly trained professionals and undergo training in Japan, Taiwan and other countries.
1. Initial assessment
– A full mouth examination will be done by the dentist . An OPG x-ray might be taken to make sure there are no remaining tooth root in the bone to ensure your denture will fit comfortably and no infection is present in the mouth. Our dentist will also assess if the anatomical landmarks of your gums and bone allows for a high success rate of the suction dentures.
2. Taking of primary impression
– An alginate mould will be taken at this point . The mould will be scanned with an intraoral scanner and will be sent to the lab to fabricate a special tray to take another more accurate mould on the next visit.
3.Secondary impression
– A second mould will be taken with silicone material , and your bite will be
recorded . This mould will be again scanned and sent to the lab .
4. A temporary denture will be fabricated
-. It is a printed monoblock denture made of resin . This temporary
denture will be worn for 3 weeks to make sure that you get used to the new set of dentures before the permanent denture is fabricated.
5. Issue of permanent set of dentures will be done at the next appointment . Any adjustments to the dentures will be done at this stage .
6. Review of the dentures after 1 week.
